Hoax about Botox injections spread on the Internet
It has been recently published on the Internet a news stating that people deceased in foreign countries due to Botox injections. It was a hoax spread by mass media, that however it’s a sign of the attention that this cosmetic product raise in these days. Famous Italian plastic surgeon Nicolò Scuderi, reached by ADNKronos Health said: “This news was circulating on the Internet and then published by British tabloids. It is literally science fiction. There are no person for which there is a counter-indication about Botox injections. And this helps determine that Botox is not dangerous.”
The surgeon adds that “Aesthetic interventions are not suggested to pregnant women and patients affected by multiple sclerosis or other disorders of the nervous system. It is something explained also in the information leaflets. However this kind of precaution, at least for pregnancy, has to be taken for the majority of pharmaceutical drugs, even those more common and tested.
So there’s absolutely no risk for Botox Injections? Yes, but with one condition, stressed already in other posts as it is very important. Botolinum toxin of Type A is a toxin, after all, and can only be administered by expert doctors that must inform the patients about the risks they are taking.
In the USA Botox injections are number one aesthetic intervention and in other countries are quickly increasing. Pay attention not to buy cheap products or go to cheap medical centers. Choose known and respected doctors that know what to do in case of problems.
